The sky nearby

I walked around San Leandro Bay, a narrow body of water sandwiched between Alameda and Oakland and flanked by the airport, the sports stadium and an industrial park; yet somehow it still retains a sense of wild beauty.

What a gorgeous photo. And I like being reminded that there is always beauty when you look for it.

I remember taking a train from Harrisburg, PA to New York, NY and being mesmerized by the last 30 minutes - wetlands, marshes, sunset, birds... Nature is there, where we look, seemingly impoverished perhaps at times, but ultimately, all that there is.

Pete, you said it better than I ever could. And there's something about finding beauty in these unexpected places that makes it seem more remarkable.
