The gazpacho of perpetual inspiration

My brother has finally given me the recipe for his life-altering gazpacho:
"Throw a handful of ice cubes into the blender, a couple of vine-ripened tomatoes, two Persian cucumbers (washed but not peeled), half of a red, orange or green bell pepper, two tablespoons of red-wine vinegar, the juice of half a lemon, a generous dash of extra-virgin olive oil, fresh ground black pepper, a pinch of sea salt, a mashed garlic clove, a shallot or two, and a few pieces of bread (baguette, ciabatta, etc.). Blend at medium speed, but not too fine. I like to change up the ingredients and often include some watercress and fresh hot chili pepper—if you like it mildly spicy. Garnish your gazpacho with some chopped radishes or avocado, or just enjoy plain, cold and delicious."
