The threshold

"Looking back on the past six months, Margaret realized the chaotic nature of our daily life, and its difference from the orderly sequence that has been fabricated by historians. Actual life is full of false clues and sign-posts that lead nowhere. With infinite effort we nerve ourselves for a crisis that never comes."
- E.M. Forster, from Howards End

That is an amazing picture, an amazing dress...and a thought-provoking quote.
There's something about that picture...caught between reality and fantasy - I keep needing to come back and look at it. Strange.

Farmgirl: unfortunately I can't find the artist's name, but I love this picture, too; it's full of mythic imagery that finds its way into our unconscious and emerges in dreams.
