Rainbow news bulletin

On the evening of July 11, 2009, a double rainbow was seen shimmering over the city of Oakland, Calif. People put down their dinner forks and left their homes, children climbed up on roofs, diners streamed out of restaurants, and traffic stopped as motorists craned their necks to get a better look. For the 8.4 minutes the rainbow was visible in the skies of Oakland, no crimes were committed, no oaths were uttered, and all malice was banished from the human heart.

Kathy, thank you. I agree that it's always a good sign when people are looking up. Or down, come to think of it. Hope you'll visit again soon.

Hi Cake! It really was lovely.

Anon -- I love the Spanish word for rainbow: arco iris.

I saw the other side of that double rainbow from the nosebleed section of a Giants game at Pac Bell Park. It was my mom's second visit to California as a widow. She liked the rainbow.

Maybe they should rename the nosebleed section to the rainbow section. That's where the really good views are.
