Sometime between 8:21am and 6:47pm on Thursday an unknown suspect ate the heads off four sunflowers, leaving only the bent and broken stalks. There were no witnesses. At this time we have no clues to the identity of the assailant, although a suspicious peanut shell was found near the scene of the crime. Suspect may be a flight risk.

Puck THAT! (maybe?)
Despite Puck's known passion for sunflowers, he has an airtight alibi; he was indoors on the day of the crime.
My wife suspects turtles in a similar crime against blackberries at our place. They are apparently more corrupt and more resourceful than I had imagined.
It must be Bandita the raccoon. She always looks guilty.
Heli, on the advice of counsel Bandita isn't talking, but her lawyer claims she couldn't possibly have committed the crime as she's nocturnal and the incident took place during the day. A legal technicality, if you ask me.
Chris, I feel like I should give you some kind of wonderful award for writing a sentence that begins, "My wife suspects turtles." Thank you for that. Turtles, of course, are as corrupt as the Mafia, but no one will admit it. You should get another award for that.
