It's 1 a.m. and I'm drifting off to sleep when a horrible thought pops into my head. "What's the plural of leaf?" I ask."Leaves," Michael says.
"Are you sure?"
"Well, Walt Whitman didn't write 'Leafs of Grass.'"
"Oh, no." I say. "I think I misspelled a word on my blog."
Neither of us says anything for a minute. "My computer's still on," he says, suppressing a yawn. I pad into the other room to check the blog, only to find that leaves is spelled properly after all, and suddenly I feel very sleepy.

Know that if you misspell anything I'll immediately leaf.
Don't leaf! I will try to do bedder.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who wakes up in the middle of the night thinking of things like this. With me sometimes, it's a word misspelled in the comments section. Alas there is nothing to do about these!
Do we need to start a support group?
Tai, no doubt you have done wrong things in the past, but misspelling the word "leaves," I could have told you wasn't one of them!
k
Tai, there's a big support group for you in Toronto. It's called the Toronto Maple Leafs, a hockey club with cult status here even though they are perpetual losers.
Toronto Maple Leafs? Perpetual losers? O Canada!
